Abstract This project teaching art based on
the insertion of kirigami as a teaching tool to compare the visual
communication channel with the channel synesthetic in rereading the five
Platonic solids explained with concepts of mathematical and geometric design.
In contact with students volunteer 10 to 12 years, with the third year computer
students and students Pibid in lab Math of State College Professor Vicente
Rijo, Londrina, PR, was working the kirigami into three classes: the square,
the triangle and the pentagon . After the first class was instructed students
to seek videos of upcoming geometric figures and tried to do before class. No
student showed the solid only seeing the video where it was intended to assess
learning by visual channel, but all responded to the kinesthetic. It is
extremely important that teachers adapt their lectures, visual and auditory, with
kinesthetic teaching practices effective for construction and appropriation of
knowledge. The presence of the teacher is essential for overcoming the initial
difficulties and make the necessary connections. Teaching kirigami (art / education)
flees the mathematical rigor, enabling students to see the connection of the
infinite possibilities of art and applied geometry.
